Routine Hardwood Care
Hardwood floors hold up well when cared for regularly. Use a microfiber dust mop or a broom with soft bristles to pick up dust and grit. Place mats at exterior doors to help limit tracked-in debris, and avoid walking on the floor with high heels or cleats. Keep pet nails trimmed and consider felt pads under furniture to reduce scratching.
Addressing Spills & Stains
Life happens, and unfortunately, spills are part of it. When accidents occur, act quickly by blotting (not rubbing) the affected area with a clean, dry cloth. Always follow the care recommendations provided by your hardwood manufacturer to avoid using products or methods that could damage the floors or affect your warranty. Avoid wet mops and steam cleaners, which may warp the boards or dull the finish. For tougher stains, professional cleaning may be your best option.
